Today is the halfway point of winter, and I’m linking up with Modern Mrs. Darcy to share what’s saving my life right now. Winter can be a difficult season, but I think it’s important to continue to practice gratitude and positive thinking, even on the coldest, darkest days.
Yoga has been the perfect exercise for me during these cold winter months. I can do it from my own home, and it feels like I’m taking care of my body and my mind. I love Yoga with Adrienne on youtube for my yoga practice.
Warm Cozy Sweaters
I am SO COLD when I wake up every morning. So I invested in a lot of realllly warm cozy sweaters that I can wear with leggings. Getting up in the morning seems so much easier when you are essentially just putting PJ’s back on.
Things are about to get really sappy. I don’t know if I say this enough but my boyfriend, Maciek, is pretty great. Coming home every day and having someone to talk to and laugh with can turn a bad day around. Having someone to help with the house work, to make dinner when you’re too tired (even if he does just order a pizza), to wake up at 5 AM and shovel the driveway when it snows. These little gestures really make all the difference, and I am so grateful to have him in my life.
I basically have a lavender scented bedtime routine. It is the best way for me to settle down at night. I love to take a lavender bubble bath, light some lavender candles, turn on my lavender diffuser, and snuggle into bed. I honestly look forward to this moment all day.
Books are literally saving my life right now. Between personal development, uplifting non-fiction, engaging fiction and audiobooks for my daily commute, books are my favourite way to escape.
I’ve mentioned my love for coconut oil in one of my monthly favourites. In winter, i bring a jar everywhere I go. It is my moisturizer, face wash, exfoliant, lip chap and hair mask because oh my gosh every single part of me gets sooo dry.
My cat is the sweetest little thing. Cats have a reputation of being aloof and standoffish, but not her. She is so cuddly and loves to fall asleep right on top of me. It is the cutest thing ever and never fails to make me smile.
What’s saving your life right now? Hoping you are all managing to enjoy this season!
