Or, new blog to be exact. I started this blog as a food blog. I love cooking, however, I found food blogging to be exhausting. For someone who is usually just winging it in the kitchen, developing recipes that others could successfully use was HARD. I hated it, and it made me dread cooking. But despite my hatred for blogging about food, I actually found I loved blogging. It provides me with a creative outlet in an otherwise very un-creative life. So I took some time and pondered what I enjoyed writing and reading about the most. From that, the idea for Bibliotherapy was born.
The word Bibliotherapy refers to the use of books as therapy, mainly in regards to mental or psychological disorders. From this, the most obvious conclusion would probably be literal self-help books (which I love, no shame!). However, to me using books as therapy is so much more than that. It’s chosing the right book for whatever you’re feeling at the time. Maybe you need a good laugh, or some comfort, or to ponder life’s big questions. Whatever it is, I guarantee there is a book out there for you. There have been so many times in my life that I’ve turned to a book during a tough time, and found a quote or a character or a plot line that made me know that others were going through the same sorts of things. Books have the power to make you feel like someone really gets you, and can make you feel less alone.
So welcome to The Bibliotherapy! A blog where you will find everything related to books and living the happiest life possible. Because really, I think we can all use a little Bibliotherapy.
