In Ontario we have this great holiday called Family Day, which usually means I get a long weekend for my birthday. I’m pretty sure this is why the holiday exists. This Family Day weekend we headed to Mont Tremblant for a weekend of good beer, great food, and a little skiing for good measure.
Somehow we had the best weather. It was sunny and hovering just around 0°C, which is basically unheard of for this time of the year. To actually be able to feel the sun again was heaven.
Tremblant is my favourite ski resort to visit. Not only is the skiing great, but the village is also so fun! It’s completely adorable, with tons of great restaurants and shopping. You are bound to enjoy yourself, even if you aren’t too fussy about skiing. To top it all off, it’s in the most gorgeous area of Quebec. It’s surrounded by lakes, hills, forests, and picture perfect towns.
To top it all off, Quebec is the home of the world’s best food. Poutine. Seriously, no one does poutine quite like Quebec.
How can you resist? I’m salivating jut looking at that. Of course, our good weather could only hold out for so long. On our last day there it started to rain. This was the perfect excuse for me to hit up the spa. The Scandinave Spa has a series of steam rooms, saunas, warm and cold pools, and relaxation rooms. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, someone comes around with fresh fruit and herbal tea. And everyone there was reading. My version of heaven…
So happy to have spent this weekend with my amazing family. Hope you all had equally great long weekends!
