So, I know I got excited this fall with my Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe. But I am possibly even more excited for this Eggnog Latte. I get that eggnog is controversial. Some find it disgusting while others can’t live without it. I am somewhere in the middle. I gotta have it at Christmas, but after a glass or two I’m good till next year. This latte, however, is a different story.
Perhaps it’s because there are about million calories in this that it tastes so irresistible. That’s how you get things to taste good, right? Just add extra calories? Plus it’s Christmas! I’m pretty sure it’s been scientifically proven that calories don’t exist during the holidays. And let me tell you, do I ever monopolize on that rule. Christmas is a time for for all thinks alcoholic, full of sugar, or smothered in cheese. True story.
So back to this calorie filled cup of heaven. I can’t get over how delicious it is. It is sweet and creamy and gives you that necessary caffeine kick that you need when spending so much time with your family (just kidding Mom!). I swear that even people who are not so fussy about eggnog will enjoy this. I am completely obsessed.
This is a MUST for those freezing mornings when you have to go to work, and all you really want to do is curl up under a blanket and watch Christmas movies. Or if you’re one of the lucky ones who has Christmas holidays, drink it WHILE you do those things. It will definitely add some Christmas cheer to your morning!
- 1/2 cup espresso or strongly brewed coffee
- 2 cups eggnog
- 1-2 tbs sugar
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- whipped cream
- 1. Brew your coffee in your preferred manner. I use my french press because it's easy to make super strong coffee and you can make a small amount!
- 2. While you're brewing your coffee, add the remaining ingredients to a small pot and heat over medium-low until warm, not boiling. Whisk the mixture occasionally while it warms.
- 3. Add the eggnog mixture and the coffee in your favourite Christmas mug, top with whipped cream and enjoy!
