Good morning and Happy Friday! I have a great weekend lined up here with tons of fun events planned. To get the weekend off to a great start, here are a few of my favourite things for the month of August.
Bumble & bumble sea salt spray
This spray is a life saver in the summer. In intense heatwaves, I cannot bring myself to use a blow dryer (let’s face it, I can’t bring my self to use one no matter the season). All you have to do is spritz a little sea salt spray into damp hair and you have the perfect beachy look.
Hopping Mad – Cider Radler
Of course, this cider isn’t in the liquor store in my town, so I have to stock up whenever I return to civilization. It is so good! This is such a refreshing summer drink, I love to keep them on hand when I’m at camp (or cottage, for people who don’t live in Northern Canada). It is the perfect blend of apple cider and grapefruit juice.
Liane Moriarty is the bestselling writer who wrote “Big Little Lies” and “The Husabnds Secret”. These are such good summer books! I cannot put them down, and they’re easy reads so I fly through them. So much fun to read sitting by the lake with a nice cold drink in hand.
Keeping a gratitude journal is something I recently started. I got the idea from Jess Lively of The Lively Show. It’s such a small thing but I find it makes a huge difference. Sitting down in the morning with a cup of tea and thinking about what I’m grateful for really sets a positive vibe for the rest of the day.
I love summer, but like most of the population, I do have a job. This means that I can’t just take off to the beach whenever I like. This candle helps me imagine I’m relaxing in the sun somewhere, without even having to leave my apartment. I was shocked how much it actually smells like suntan lotion (the good kind) and it really reminds me of lazy summer days.
Have an amazing weekend everyone!
