This month is the second month I’ve shared my goals here. Partially I do this to keep track and hold myself accountable, but I also hope that it will inspire others to make their own goals and maybe provide some ideas on how to make life a little better. Here’s a little recap on my goals from March and some new goals for April!
I failed at this completely. I just find it so difficult to consistently journal unless I’m going through something and I really need it. I will be revisiting this goal this month.
No Social Media in Bed
I definitely stopped looking at social media before I got out of bed in the morning. However, instead I hit snooze a million times. I don’t think we can consider this a success…
8 Glasses a Day
I rocked at this!! There were only a handful of days this month that I didn’t hit my 8 glasses of water. I’m now in the habit of really paying attention to this, and feeling a lot better because of it.
To actually succeed at this goal, I realized I’ll need to make a plan. I’ve been working on a series of journal prompts to help me with my self reflection when it doesn’t come naturally. Stay tuned for a post on what’s been working for me later in the month.
Seeing as I have now replaced one bad morning habit with another, I thought it would be best to focus on a healthy morning routine. This means getting out of bed when the alarm rings, not checking social media, and doing a few things to start my day off right. I’m not entirely sure what this will consist of yet, but some thoughts are journalling, inspirational reading, stretching, and meditation. My goal this month is to find a routine that makes me WANT to get out of bed.
Somehow I have fallen into a very sedentary lifestyle, for the first time in life. I have always been fairly active, through sports, dance, work or the gym. I am starting to notice stiffness and pain that wasn’t there before, and generally lacking energy and motivation. So for the month of April I’m going to start out small. My goal is to MOVE every single day. This can be anything from yoga, to running, to simply stretching my body. I’m eager to see how this affects me mentally and psychically by the end of the month.
There you have it, my goals for April! Do you make monthly goals? What are some things you want to accomplish this month?
